Whether you want to transfer a video, music files, or other readable files, you can easily copy them to your PC computer without using any software other than the Windows Explorer program you already have. Videos on a CD are not burned into the disc like a DVD. This means there is no disc image you have to decode to view it. Your CD video may be in a number of file formats, including WMV, MP4 or AVI, all of which you can copy to your PC computer.
Step 1
Insert your CD into the computer's disc drive and wait for the computer to recognize the disc. Choose to open your files using Windows Explorer. If your computer does not automatically read the CD, double- click the "CD-R" icon in the "Computer" window accessible from the "Start" menu.
Step 2
Create a new folder in Windows Explorer, or select a preexisting folder to which you want the video copied.
Step 3
Locate the video you want transferred off your CD. Drag and drop it into the desired folder on your PC or onto the desktop, if preferred. Wait for the copy to complete before removing the CD.
Tip
You may right-click the video in the CD's contents and select "Send To" to choose a drive or folder where you want to copy the video. Sponsored links
